Be a Man. Be a Wolf, Not a Teen Wolf. A Werewolf - Stiles

This fan run panel will look at the show as a whole as well as more detailed parts to see why it has such a massive following of enthusiastic fans and why it is a good show with merit even if it in not as huge as say Supernatural. Some of the things that will be discussed will be the relationships and connections of the characters and their interactions throughout the series, the mythology created in the shows universe and how it compares to other shows dealing with werewolves, The show's theme of "finding your place" as part of a pack or just as an individual trying to find yourself in this crazy world of the show. As well the idea of fan fictions, the creative explosion of fan creations, a memorial site for a beloved character and the hysteria of ships like Sterek due to this show's popularity will be discussed and looked at to see their positive and/or negative influences on the fandom and show.

Sex and The Big Bang Theory: Why TV Nerds Don't Get It On
A multimedia presentation followed by a group discussion about one of the most polarizing TV shows aimed at nerds in the history of television - The Big Bang Theory. It will examine sex/gender in TBBT and discuss how cliched writing and tropes not-so-secretly make fun of the characters in the show. It will NOT be an entirely anti-TBBT panel - the show has lots of positives which will be examined as well, supported by clips and *~*super fun graphs*~*.

We will focus on how lady-nerds are excluded from the show by illustrating how the showrunners depict women as either hot and dumb, or smart and sexually inept. I'll also demonstrate how the character of Penny is not as fun and lovable as she's made out to be - in fact, she might be scarier than a 15th level mind flayer!

There will be an opportunity for people to point out their most and least favourite moments of TBBT and talk about whether they identify with any of the characters or scenarios from the show.
